Joe Ramus, NCSG Advisory Board

Joseph S. “Joe” Ramus represents coastal community organizations on the North Carolina Sea Grant Advisory Board. He works to conserve and restore common-pool resources to sustain North Carolina’s asset-rich coastal zone. He explains that this can be achieved through the application of knowledge obtained through scientific research to coastal policy and management decision making.

An expert in coastal ecological processes, he is an emeritus professor at Duke University’s Nicholas School of the Environment and is resident at the Duke Marine Lab in Beaufort. He serves on the executive committee of the North Carolina Coastal Federation.
