Resilient Coastal Communities Program is designed to help overcome barriers in coastal resilience and adaptation planning, boost local government capacity, and support a proactive, sustainable, and equitable approach to coastal resilience planning and project implementation. The program&nbsp;is a state-local partnership, with which North Carolina Sea Grant collaborates.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The four phases of the program include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Phase 1: Community Engagement and Risk &amp; Vulnerability Assessment<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Phase 2: Planning, Project Selection, and Prioritization<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Phase 3: Engineering and Design<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Phase 4: Implementation<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The Division of Coastal Management (DCM) invites communities and contractors to apply to participate in Phases 1 and 2 of the program. These two phases walk communities through a series of steps to assess risks and vulnerabilities specific to their location, engage representative stakeholders, and complete a community-involved process to prioritize projects and action items to improve the resiliency of their community and critical assets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>DCM is open to applications from county and municipal governments within the 20 CAMA counties, federal and state-recognized tribes, and any qualified owners\u2019 association defined in G.S. 47F-1-103(3).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>DCM is also inviting applications from qualified service providers to provide technical assistance to selected localities.
