<\/a><\/p>\n Through June 1,\u00a0 the North Carolina Council on Developmental Disabilities (NCCDD) will hit the virtual road from the mountains to the coast to gather input from individuals with intellectual or other developmental disabilities, family members, caregivers and other stakeholders.<\/p>\n The Conversations with the Council – Virtual Road Tour<\/a>\u00a0will help the Council to begin\u00a0building its\u00a0Five-Year State Plan<\/a><\/em>\u00a0by gathering input from the disability community to create goals. The Five-Year State Plan<\/em> is the Council\u2019s blueprint for creating a better North Carolina for individuals with intellectual or other developmental disabilities<\/p>\n NCCDD will host two sessions in each of three regions:<\/p>\n \u201cWhile we would have loved to be on the road to meet all our community members in-person, having this input is invaluable to the Council as we develop our Five-Year State Plan<\/em>,\u201d said Talley Wells, executive director of NCCDD.<\/p>\n You can read more and register to participate in a Virtual Road Tour session here<\/a>.<\/p>\n In addition to the virtual listening sessions, the Council will seek in-depth information through\u00a0Individual, Family, and Community Stakeholder online surveys<\/a>.<\/p>\n Adapted from a press release from North Carolina Council on Developmental Disabilities.<\/em><\/p>\n ###<\/p>\n The North Carolina Council on Developmental Disabilities works to assure that people with intellectual and other developmental disabilities and their families participate in the design of and have access to needed community services, individualized supports and other forms of assistance that promote self-determination, independence, productivity and inclusion in all areas of community life.<\/p>\n\n
