Combine butter, salt, pepper and Tabasco. Cool. Brush both sides of crabs with mixture.

Place crabs, topside down, over hot coals. Close grill and cook until shell turns bright red on one side, about 2 ½ to 3 minutes. Turn and repeat on other side.

Serve with tartar sauce, if desired.
