{"id":13378,"date":"2023-06-15T09:00:00","date_gmt":"2023-06-15T13:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ncseagrant.ncsu.edu\/mariners-menu\/?p=13378"},"modified":"2025-06-19T14:30:46","modified_gmt":"2025-06-19T18:30:46","slug":"crab-and-shrimp-salad","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ncseagrant.ncsu.edu\/mariners-menu\/crab-and-shrimp-salad\/","title":{"rendered":"Crab and Shrimp Salad"},"content":{"rendered":"\n\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Recipe<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>\u00be pound backfin crabmeat<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>1 \u00bd pounds small shrimp, peeled<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u00bc cup chopped green pepper<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u00bc cup grated onion<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>1 cup chopped celery<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>1 cup mayonnaise<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u00bd teaspoon sea salt<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u215b teaspoon freshly ground white pepper<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>lettuce leaves<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Boil shrimp in salted or seasoned water until pink, about 3 to 4 minutes. Drain shrimp.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Carefully remove any shell or cartilage from crabmeat. Combine green pepper, onion and celery in medium bowl. Add crabmeat and shrimp. In a small bowl, combine mayonnaise, Worcestershire, salt and pepper. Add to crab-shrimp mixture. Mix thoroughly but gently to avoid breaking up crabmeat. Chill for several hours.
