{"id":9447,"date":"2020-10-15T09:00:26","date_gmt":"2020-10-15T13:00:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ncseagrant.ncsu.edu\/mariners-menu\/?p=9447"},"modified":"2023-12-19T07:59:00","modified_gmt":"2023-12-19T12:59:00","slug":"oyster-dressing-with-thyme","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ncseagrant.ncsu.edu\/mariners-menu\/oyster-dressing-with-thyme\/","title":{"rendered":"Oyster Dressing with Thyme"},"content":{"rendered":"\n\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Recipe<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>2 cups oysters, drained, coarsely chopped, liquid reserved<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>2 sleeves saltine crackers, crushed<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u00bd cup butter<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u00bd cup chopped onion<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u00bd cup chopped green onions, including tops<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u00bd cup chopped celery<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u00bd cup heavy cream<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>1 teaspoon dried thyme<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u00bc teaspoon salt<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u00bd teaspoon freshly ground black pepper<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Preheat the oven to 400\u00b0 F.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Melt butter, add onion, green onions, celery and lightly saut\u00e9. Remove from heat. Add cream, thyme, salt and pepper.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In a large bowl, combine crushed crackers and vegetable mix. Add oysters and toss lightly. Add reserved oyster liquid until stuffing is moist, about \u00bc cup. Place in shallow greased baking pan.
