The N.C. Coastal Resources Law, Planning, and Policy Center was a partner in the UNC Coastal Wind Feasibility Study from 2008-2009. The Center\u2019s co-directors continue to be involved in offshore energy development issues in the Southeast and Mid-Atlantic regions.<\/p>\n
Offshore energy development, from oil and gas to renewables, has the potential to provide a boost to both the state\u2019s economy and local coastal economies. The Center\u2019s co-directors often are invited to serve as expert advisors on issues related to Outer Continental Shelf leasing, onshore infrastructure, state and federal regulations, and community impacts.<\/p>\n
The law is often at the intersection of science, and management, and policy. The Center\u2019s expertise can help bridge gaps in information about the legal, environmental and coastal development implications of offshore energy development.<\/p>\n
