Specially, we aim to uncover how external chemical signals (pheromones, chemical cues, pollutants) are detected and affect the fish nose, how that information is integrated into the brain, and how it is translated into activation of the endocrine axis that initiates a specific physiological process (reproduction, behavior, etc). The discovery of new striped bass pheromones can be critical for the optimization of reproduction practices and management of the wildlife population.

E: mhuertas@txstate.edu

North East Regional Coordinator

Professor in the Department of Agriculture, Nutrition, and Food Systems, University of New Hampshire

E: david.berlinsky@unh.edu

Berlinsky helps carry-out project objectives related to broodstock spawning synchronization, hatchery, and larval production of striped bass at the Pamlico Aquaculture Field Laboratory (PAFL).

StriperHub Southeast Regional Coordinator

Professor, Department of Biological Sciences, North Carolina State University

E: rjb@ncsu.edu

Borski contributes to reduced frequency feeding growth studies and data collection for economics.

Area Specialized Agent, Agriculture – Aquaculture, North Carolina Cooperative Extension

E: mofrinsk@ncsu.edu

Professor and Director, Marine Aquaculture Research Center (MARC), North Carolina State University

E: shall5@ncsu.edu

Principal Scientist and Director, Aquaculture Research and Development, Ohio Statue University

E: wang.900@osu.edu

Research Physiologist (Animals), USDA Agricultural Research Service

E: steven.rawles@usda.gov

Vice President and General Manager, Land-Based Aquaculture Systems, Innovasea

Contact: https://www.innovasea.com/

Laboratory Research Specialist, Center for Marine Sciences and Technology, North Carolina State University

E: gebolton@ncsu.edu

Seafood Technology and Marketing Specialist, North Carolina Sea Grant

E: barry_nash@ncsu.edu

Leads outreach activities to promote research and encourage consumers to buy and prepare cultivated striped bass.

Seafood Specialist, New York Sea Grant

E: mc2544@cornell.edu

Principal Agent Associate, University of Maryland

E: mparke11@umd.edu

Aquaculture Marketing Director/Clinical Engagement Full Professor, Purdue University

E: kquagrai@purdue.edu

Aquaculture Technology Chair, Careret Community College

E: cerinod@carteret.edu

Leads efforts on larviculture of striped bass in vocational education settings and provide marine aquaculture technology training programs.

Associate Professor, Department of History, North Carolina State University

E: mmbooker@ncsu.edu

StriperHub Webmaster

Science Writer / Producer, North Carolina Sea Grant

E: dsdinico@ncsu.edu

Aquaculture and Fisheries Research Scientist, Center For Sustainable Seafood Systems, New Hampshire Sea Grant

E: Linas.Kenter@unh.edu

Associate Professor in English in Technical and Scientific Communication, North Carolina State University

E: slpigg@ncsu.edu

Senior Research Associate, Animal Science, Cornell University

Eric Herbst
