North Carolina Sea Grant’s biennial conference serves as a platform for engaging with like-minded participants and potential collaborators dedicated to the prosperity of our state’s coastal communities, environments, and economies. Join us for stimulating presentations and discussions featuring researchers, agency and business experts, community leaders, educators, students, and all individuals passionate about coastal topics. PROTEUS\u2122 Leaders to Kick Off Conference<\/h2>\n

We’re excited to announce that Fabien Cousteau and Brian Helmuth of PROTEUS\u2122 will kick off our conference as the opening panel. This visionary sea-floor observatory aims to address food sustainability, climate impacts, and unlock new medical discoveries.<\/p>\n \n

Professional Development Credits<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The North Carolina Coastal Conference provides opportunities to earn credit for Professional Development Hours, Continuing Legal Education, Continuing Education Units, and Hours for the Environmental Education Certification Program:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    \n
  • Up to 10 Hours under Criteria III of the NC Environmental Education Certification Program<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Up to 1 Continuing Education Unit. Teachers should contact their local LEA for more information<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • 12 CECs for certified floodplain managers<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • 8 PDH credits (4 each day) for soil scientists<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • 8 PDH credits for professional engineers\/land surveyors<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • 8 PDH credits for licensed geologists<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • 6 CLE credits for Shape of the Coast attendees<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

    To receive any type of credit for the conference, you must fulfill the following requirements:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    • Register and complete payment for the event in advance.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Provide your signature on the appropriate sign-in sheet at the registration desk each day.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Submit a completed Sponsor Evaluation. This form will be available at the registration desk. Please provide the day(s) of your attendance on the form. If you attend both days, you only need to submit one form.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Complete the online conference evaluation by scanning the QR code located on the inside cover of your conference booklet.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

      Note: While NC Sea Grant offers Professional Development Credit for this program, it is up to each professional to determine if the content is relevant to their individual practice and suitable for their continuing education. Upon completion and return of required paperwork, each attendee will receive an electronic certificate for their records and self-reporting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
