These include the full production process of <a href=\"http:\/\/nccoastwatch.org\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em>Coastwatch<\/em><\/a> magazine, with content development, design review and editing. The managing editor also oversees and edits the program\u2019s online content on <a href=\"http:\/\/ncseagrant.org\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em>ncseagrant.org<\/em><\/a>, and leads teams working on a variety of special projects, such as multimedia products focusing on current and emerging issues for N.C. coastal ecosystems and economies.<\/p>\n<p>The managing editor builds and maintains relationships with colleagues in academia, community organizations and government agencies, as well as outside vendors, to ensure that the mission of Sea Grant is appropriately communicated across North Carolina and beyond. The successful applicant will work with the communications director in developing and implementing communications strategies to best meet the needs of the organization, and to further the reach of Sea Grant\u2019s research, extension and education efforts. The editor will serve as a mentor to other Sea Grant staff, along with undergraduate and graduate students.<\/p>\n<p>Listed as an \u201cadvanced\u201d level at NC State University, the position is based in Raleigh, with some travel required. Work often is with academic, agency and community partners. A federal\/state partnership, the program is administered through its headquarters at NC State University, with additional outreach staff at three coastal offices.
