FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE<\/strong><\/p>\n Contact:<\/em> The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration\u2019s Office for Coastal Management has opened applications for the 2020-2022 Coastal Management\/Digital Coast Fellowship Program.<\/p>\n \u201cThese fellowships provide on-the-job opportunities in coastal resource management and policy, while also offering key expertise to state coastal zone management agencies and other key NOAA partners,\u201d notes John Fear, North Carolina Sea Grant deputy director.<\/p>\n North Carolina Sea Grant is accepting online applications from current and recent graduate students in the state. Applications must be completed by\u00a05 p.m., Jan. 17, 2020<\/strong>, through the eSeaGrant portal:\u00a0go.ncsu.edu\/ncesg<\/a>. The site includes details regarding requirements for the application package.<\/p>\n The positions start in August 2020.<\/strong> The two-year opportunity offers a competitive salary, medical benefits, and travel and relocation expense reimbursement.<\/p>\n A national pool of candidates is expected for the new fellowship assignments: the California State Coastal Conservancy; coastal programs in Delaware, Guam, Maryland, Texas, and U.S. Virgin Islands; and with three Digital Coast partners, including the Association of State Floodplain Managers (in partnership with the Coastal States Organization), the National Estuarine Research Reserve Association, and The Nature Conservancy.<\/p>\n Applicants must complete a master\u2019s or other advanced degree at an accredited U.S. university between Jan. 1, 2019, and\u00a0July 31, 2020<\/strong>, to be eligible. A broad range of degrees will apply to the fellowships because the projects are varied across the host organizations.<\/p>\n Application packages must be submitted to the Sea Grant office in the state where the degree was\/will be received.
