Anna Jane Jones soon will start a new fellowship: to work with The Nature Conservancy to plan and implement nature-based solutions to reduce risk in the Florida Panhandle and the Carolinas Coastal Plain. Both regions recently have seen significant effects from hurricanes.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"auto\">Jones comes to the fellowship with a master\u2019s in city and regional planning from the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill. In addition, she holds a bachelor\u2019s in art history and the visual arts from Occidental College. She will start her fellowship in August.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"auto\">John Fear, deputy director of North Carolina Sea Grant, says, &#8220;We are extremely thrilled that Anna Jane will bring her planning skills to the Nature Conservancy in support of their risk reduction and recovery efforts in North Carolina and Florida.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p dir=\"auto\">For the fellowship, North Carolina Sea Grant recruits and nominates students attending universities in the state.
