FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE<\/strong> How do North Carolina shellfish fit into your travel plans? A team of researchers wants to know \u2014 and is hoping you\u2019ll answer through a new survey<\/a>. The results will help improve the North Carolina Oyster Trail<\/a>, which connects tourists with local businesses and other sites of interest.<\/p>\n \u201cThe survey will gather information on the types of oyster-related activities visitors would participate in; how they would learn about these activities; and their general travel behaviors,\u201d says team leader Whitney Knollenberg, of NC State University\u2019s Department of Parks, Recreation & Tourism Management.<\/p>\n Once they have the results, the team will see how well existing businesses, nonprofits, and activities meet tourism demand.<\/p>\n
