UPDATED Nov. 8, 2021 with deadline for notices of intent for one of the opportunities.\u00a0<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n Contacts: <\/span><\/em> North Carolina Sea Grant is encouraging aquaculture researchers and growers in the state to consider two new opportunities that have opened with funding from the National Sea Grant College Program.<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cWe are looking forward to having new and existing partners in marine aquaculture bring ideas to our NC Sea Grant team,\u201d notes Frank L\u00f3pez, extension director. \u201cThe sooner we know the topics, the greater the opportunities to collaborate in-state and across the Sea Grant network.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n The funding will be for:<\/p>\n Details are available at the links above.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n \u201c<\/b>Each of the new programs has a specific sets of taxa or species that are eligible, with some that are very relevant to current or potential businesses in our state,\u201d L\u00f3pez adds.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Each of the funding opportunities will require principal investigators to complete a notice of intention to submit a proposal. The notices for <\/span>Marine Finfish Aquaculture Juvenile Production Technologies\u00a0are due Nov. 9,\u00a0 2021<\/strong>.\u00a0 The notices for Early Stage Propagation Strategies for Aquaculture Species are due Nov. 16, 2021<\/strong>. Full proposals will be due in January 2022 after the PIs have worked with NC Sea Grant to develop the project narrative and budgets.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n All proposals must include participation of Sea Grant extension specialists.
