Contact: North Carolina Sea Grant is looking for a new member for its award-winning communications team.<\/p>\n The science writer\/digital content specialist will use a variety of media to share information developed through Sea Grant\u2019s research and outreach on myriad topics related to North Carolina\u2019s coastal ecosystems, watersheds and economies.<\/p>\n Duties include, but are not limited to, writing for Coastwatch<\/em> magazine<\/a> and ncseagrant.org<\/a>. The communications team also works with the program’s management team, extension specialists, researchers, and agency and community partners to develop a range of products in print, online and video formats. Applicants should be adept in developing engaging social media, as well as descriptive summaries of Sea Grant’s efforts, and also have experience in basic graphic design and mapping for communications products.<\/p>\n The position is for a midcareer or \u201cjourney\u201d level professional to be employed by NC State University. Since 1970, Sea Grant has been a valuable resource in the state for scientists, educators, local officials, government agencies, coastal businesses and the public to find scientifically sound information about the state\u2019s coastal ecosystems and communities. Part of the National Sea Grant network, the program receives funding from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration and the state, and works with universities and colleges across the state. NC Sea Grant has headquarters in Raleigh, and three coastal offices.<\/p>\n “North Carolina Sea Grant champions diversity, equity, inclusion, justice, and accessibility.
