The CCRG program brings communities and researchers together to address important coastal challenges and statewide water resource issues.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cThis program is an effective and efficient process to continually address community priorities that can change year to year,\u201d says John Fear, deputy director of North Carolina Sea Grant and the NC Water Resources Research Institute. \u201cCCRG projects bring significant returns on investment. New partnerships sustain themselves and their momentum produces ongoing benefits.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">CCRG strongly encourages proposals from applicants at Historically Black Colleges and Universities and Minority Serving Institutions, as well as from traditionally underserved and underrepresented communities. In addition, CCRG strongly encourages proposals that demonstrate how projects and related outreach will benefit underserved and underrepresented communities.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">New grants will range from $5,000 to $25,000 for one-year projects.\u00a0Recently funded CCRG projects\u00a0have supported youth education, tribal knowledge, air and water quality, and an exploration of plastic contaminants in headwaters. Stories about many previous projects are available at <em><a href=\"https:\/\/ncseagrant.ncsu.edu\/funding-opps\/grants\/other-opps\/community-collaborative-research-grant-program\">go.ncsu.edu\/CCRG<\/a><\/em>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">The CCRG program partners with NC&#160;State University\u2019s\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/kenan.ncsu.edu\/\">William R. Kenan Jr. Institute for Engineering, Technology and Science (KIETS)<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/wrri.ncsu.edu\/\">North Carolina\u2019s Water Resources Research Institute (WRRI)<\/a>.
