FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n CONTACT: John Fear, jmfear@ncsu.edu<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n The application period is open now until Feb. 15, 2024 for next year’s Knauss Fellowships.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n NOAA and the National Sea Grant Office have announced placements for the 2023 class of the Sea Grant John A. Knauss Marine Policy Fellowship program. The fellows include six graduate students from North Carolina: Claudia Deeg, Nico Fairbairn, Mac Gagn\u00e9, Sydney Mantell, Stephanie Murphy, and Aaron Ramus.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n The highly competitive Knauss Fellowship is a year-long program for graduate students interested in national policy issues affecting ocean, coastal, and Great Lakes resources. Since 1979, over 1,400 fellows have completed the program, becoming leaders in science, policy, and public administration.<\/span> <\/p>\n\n\n\n Duke University, NC State University, and the University of North Carolina Wilmington have provided invaluable educational opportunities and training grounds for North Carolina\u2019s 2024 Knauss Fellowship finalists. These six individuals bring relevant experience and broad research interests to the program.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n
