The fellowship will support one graduate student based in North Carolina and Virginia to conduct applied research within the North Carolina portion of the APNEP management boundary.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis partnership between APNEP and Sea Grant is a great way to leverage resources and support students at both entities,\u201d notes John Fear, Sea Grant deputy director.<\/p>\n<p>The selected fellow must conduct research that addresses one or more of the following focus areas:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Impacts of aquatic invasive species on ecosystems and human communities;<\/li>\n<li>Impacts of harmful algal blooms on ecosystems and human communities; and<\/li>\n<li>Sediment\/water column interactions.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Projects should also be relatable to Sea Grant\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/ncseagrant.ncsu.edu\/ncseagrant_docs\/key_docs\/NCSGStrategicPlan_20182021.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">2018-2021 Strategic Plan<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.apnep.org\/c\/document_library\/get_file?uuid=e6600731-daed-4c5f-9136-253f23c9bbcf&amp;groupId=61563\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">APNEP\u2019s Comprehensive Conservation and Management Plan<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>APNEP is hosted by the <a href=\"https:\/\/deq.nc.gov\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">N.C.
