Contact:<\/em> North Carolina Sea Grant seeks applications for its Community Collaborative Research Grant Program<\/a>, or CCRG. This opportunity is part of an ongoing partnership with the William R. Kenan Jr. Institute for Engineering, Technology and Science <\/a>at NC State University.<\/p>\n \u201cInitial CCRG projects already have shown a great return on the investments. Results have included needed data, informative exhibits and community discussions,\u201d says John Fear, Sea Grant deputy director. \u201cWe look forward to the new round of applications.\u201d<\/p>\n Funded projects will bring coastal communities together with university researchers to study high-priority coastal issues that meet Sea Grant\u2019s mission. Applications are due Feb. 12, 2018<\/strong>.<\/p>\n The research is varied and involves many parts of coastal communities. Read the final report for a CCRG project \u2014 a pilot study offering cape shark in Cape Hatteras Secondary School\u2019s cafeteria \u2014 at go.ncsu.edu\/STS_capeshark<\/em><\/a>. The findings also are summarized as part of the Blue Economy series at ncseagrant.ncsu.edu\/blueeconomy<\/em><\/a>.<\/p>\n In addition, previous projects have been chronicled as blog posts on the Sea Grant website, written up as Coastwatch<\/em> stories and featured on UNC-TV.<\/p>\n
