Mariner’s Menu blogger and photographer Vanda Lewis has worked with North Carolina Sea Grant for more than three decades in the Morehead City office. Her blog postings feature recipes from Joyce Taylor’s resource book Mariner’s Menu: 30 Years of Fresh Seafood Ideas.

Barry Nash is a seafood technology and marketing specialist with North Carolina Sea Grant at the Center for Marine Sciences and Technology in Morehead City, NC. He assists seafood businesses with commercializing new products, regulatory compliance, manufacturing and direct marketing. His expertise was instrumental in the development of Carteret Catch, a joint venture between Carteret County fishermen and local restaurants to generate commercial visibility for coastal North Carolina seafood. Barry will post contributions pertaining to seafood safety, the health benefits of seafood and sourcing local products along the North Carolina coast.

The late Joyce Taylor, author of Mariner’s Menu served as seafood education specialist with the North Carolina State University Seafood Laboratory and North Carolina Sea Grant since 1974. She raised awareness of local seafood through workshops across the state, with food editors, seafood markets, restaurants and consumers. Some of her blog postings featured recipes from the resource book Mariner’s Menu: 30 Years of Fresh Seafood Ideas.

Before she passed away in late 2013, she had developed new recipes and preparation tips for the next Mariner’s Menu book.
