Spicy Fried Striped Bass

Recipe

  • 1 ½ pounds striped bass fillets, skinless, cut into serving-size pieces
  • 1 tablespoon Tabasco sauce
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup milk
  • oil for frying
  • salt

Prepare Spicy Seasoning and set aside.

In a shallow bowl mix Tabasco, egg and milk. Lightly salt fish.  Dip in egg mixture, then sprinkle with seasoning mix.

Pan-fry fish in ¼-inch of hot oil until golden brown for about 3 minutes on each side, cooking until done.

Spicy Seasoning

  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • ½ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon dried thyme
  • ½ teaspoon dried oregano
  • ½ teaspoon dried basil

In a shallow dish combine garlic, cayenne, pepper, thyme, oregano and basil.
