Statewide Developmental Disabilities Council Launches Virtual Road Tour
Through June 1, the North Carolina Council on Developmental Disabilities (NCCDD) will hit the virtual road from the mountains to the coast to gather input from individuals with intellectual or other developmental disabilities, family members, caregivers and other stakeholders.
The Conversations with the Council – Virtual Road Tour will help the Council to begin building its Five-Year State Plan by gathering input from the disability community to create goals. The Five-Year State Plan is the Council’s blueprint for creating a better North Carolina for individuals with intellectual or other developmental disabilities
NCCDD will host two sessions in each of three regions:
- Mountain Region: Monday, May 11
- 12:30 p.m. – 2:00 p.m.
- 6:30 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.
- Piedmont Region: Monday, May 18
- 12:30 p.m. – 2:00 p.m.
- 6:30 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.
- Coastal Region: Monday, June 1
- 12:30 p.m. – 2:00 p.m.
- 6:30 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.
“While we would have loved to be on the road to meet all our community members in-person, having this input is invaluable to the Council as we develop our Five-Year State Plan,” said Talley Wells, executive director of NCCDD.

In addition to the virtual listening sessions, the Council will seek in-depth information through Individual, Family, and Community Stakeholder online surveys.
