Carteret Community College Aquaculture Program
The partnership provides students with on-site training at NCSU PAFL where they learn about striped bass breeding, hatchery practices, and fingerling production each spring. Successful students in this program can earn a one-year certificate and enter the workforce as operators at commercial production facilities, or continue on for an Associate degree to become prepared for a management level position or employed in a hatchery or research facility. Students also can earn the Aquatic Animal Life Support Operators (AALSO), Water Quality Technician, and Life Support Operator Certifications in this program.
