  • North Carolina Sea Grant helps build stakeholders’ understanding of the forces that influence coastal processes, a critical first step in mitigating damage from storms and erosion.
• Hurricane Resource Portal
  • North Carolina Sea Grant provides a list of national, state and county-based resources for hurricane preparedness and recovery.
• Ready NC Portal
  • This portal offers information for a variety of emergency preparedness needs.
• National Hurricane Center
  • The National Hurricane Center mission is to save lives, mitigate property loss and improve economic efficiency by issuing the best watches, warnings, forecasts and analyses of hazardous tropical weather — as well as by increasing understanding of these hazards.
• Community Assessment Using the Vulnerability and Consequences Adaptation Planning Scenarios Planning Tool (VCAPS)
  • This tool helps municipalities assess risks from climate change and identify ways to reduce vulnerabilities, involving the community and stakeholders in the process.
