A team of students from the North Carolina School of Science and Mathematics in Durham won the 2015 Blue Heron Bowl, held in Chapel Hill on Feb. 7.
Registration is now open for North Carolina’s Coastal Conference on April 14, 2015 in Raleigh. Sponsored by the University of North Carolina System and hosted by North Carolina Sea Grant, the day will begin with panels and discussions at NC State University’s McKimmon Center, and will conclude with an evening reception at the N.C. Museum of Natural Sciences.

The 2015 Shape of the Coast is scheduled for 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Feb. 13, at the Friday Center in Chapel Hill. This event is part of the University of North Carolina School of Law’s Festival of Legal Learning. The coastal session is co-sponsored by the N.C. Coastal Resources Law, Planning and Policy Center; North Carolina Sea Grant; and the UNC-CH School of Law.

The SciREN Coast 2015 networking event on Feb. 12 at the North Carolina Aquarium at Pine Knoll Shores will be an evening of relaxed conversations among educators and researchers. Researchers will provide educators with K-12 classroom-ready lesson plans based on their current work.
The 2015 Blue Heron Bowl will take place at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill on Feb. 7. Twelve North Carolina schools participating in the quiz bowl are from Alamance, Camden, Dare, Durham, New Hanover, Orange and Wake counties.
