NC Sea Grant to Lead Regional Partnership for Seafood Workforce Development

North Carolina Sea Grant will join colleagues from the South Carolina Sea Grant Consortium, University of Georgia Marine Extension and Georgia Sea Grant, and Carteret Community College (CCC) to develop a program of essential skills for the "next-gen seafood industry." The two-year project is one of three announced today by NOAA Sea Grant.

NC Sea Grant to Receive Federal Disaster Preparedness Programs Funding

North Carolina Sea Grant is among four recipients of funding from a partnership of NOAA’s National Sea Grant College Program and Office of Response and Restoration (OR&R) Disaster Preparedness Program (DPP) to support innovative all-hazard preparedness, response, and recovery initiatives for coastal communities.

NC Space Grant and Sea Grant Announce New Joint Fellow

North Carolina Space Grant and Sea Grant are pleased to announce the programs’ 2023-24 joint research fellow. Colleen Brown, a Ph.D. student at the University of North Carolina at Wilmington’s Center for Marine Science, is studying water quality in the Lower Cape Fear River Watershed.

NOAA’s Climate Ready Workforce Funding Opportunity Now Open

NOAA will invest $60 million total from the Inflation Reduction Act for the initiative — a $50 million competitive funding opportunity and $10 million for technical assistance to support applicants and grantees.
