Call for Presentations

The 2026 NC Sea Grant Coastal Conference will take place in Chapel Hill on Nov. 17-18. Students, faculty, practitioners, and community members from across the state are invited to submit proposals for consideration.

Submitted proposals should be a maximum of 250 words in length and include a summary of work to be presented on. All proposals should be submitted through the eSeaGrant submission portal. Please note that, should your proposal be accepted, you are expected to register for and attend our conference.

Multiple Presentation Styles Welcome

Presenters can choose one of the styles below.

Oral Presentation*

Present a standard 15-minute talk with slides. Selected presentations will be placed into a session based on topic.

Full Session or Panel Discussion

Plan a session (approximately 90 minutes) consisting of several oral presentations, a panel, workshop/training, and/or a discussion.

Poster Presentation*

Present a scientific poster summarizing research. All selected posters will be displayed, and presenters will present during the poster reception.

Lightning Talk*

Present a short 5-minute presentation. Selected talks will be placed into a session consisting of other lightning talks.

* indicates that the option is highly encouraged for graduate or undergraduate students, though all conference attendees are welcome to apply.

Note: Students who submit proposals for lightning talks or poster presentations should indicate if they wish to be entered into student competition for a chance to win a cash prize.

Deadline

Brief presentation descriptions are due on June 1, 2026.
