2022 Knauss Fellows Begin Service

NOAA and the National Sea Grant Office have announced placements for the 2022 class of the Sea Grant John A. Knauss Marine Policy Fellowship program. The fellows include three graduate students from North Carolina: Olivia Vilá, Anderson Tran, and Colleen Baker.

New Coastal Research Fellow Studies Invasive Wetland Grass

Mollie Yacano will investigate the environmental impact of removing Phragmites, a common reed grass that invades coastal wetlands. North Carolina Sea Grant and the North Carolina Coastal Reserve and National Estuarine Research Reserve Program sponsor the fellowship, which supports work in the state’s coastal reserve system.
