Shellebrating Education on the North Carolina Oyster Trail

The North Carolina Oyster Trail expanded its educational reach this past year with updated resources, grower storytelling, and teacher workshops that showcased sustainable shellfish farming. North Carolina Sea Grant led the effort, in partnership with the North Carolina Coastal Federation and the North Carolina Shellfish Growers Association.

2025 Coastal Research Fellow Announced

Sam Holberg is the 2025 North Carolina Coastal Research Fellow. Holberg is a doctoral student in biological and agricultural engineering at NC State, and his research will look at floating oyster aquaculture and how the infrastructure may influence shoreline change.
