Teachers on the Tower: An Educator Returnship to Frying Pan Tower

Your costs will be travel to the marina, possible parking fees and overnight hotel stay if needed.
Participants will spend 6 days at Frying Pan Tower (weather pending) and will be immersed in marine science education and research. Each day, participants will collect and monitor real time data on basic chemical and physical ocean trends including but not limited to: barometric pressure, pH, sea surface and air temperatures, wind speed/direction, salinity, etc. Other field based program activities will include: avian biology and behavior, meiofauna collection and identification, plankton tows, daily species list and counts from underwater mounted cameras, and nightly astronomical observations from the Dwarf II.
