Join New York Sea Grant and the Science and Resilience Institute at Jamaica Bay in their second of three virtual forums. The primary goal of these forums is to address knowledge gaps Natural and Nature-Based Features (NNBF) stakeholders (researchers, policymakers, and practitioners) have identified in a recent workshop pertaining to the implementation and management of Nature Based Solutions in New York State.
This presentation will summarize the recent US Supreme Court’s Sackett decision which narrowed the extent of the Clean Water Act, notably for the Section 404 Permitting portion of the Act implemented primarily by the US Army Corps of Engineers. Local examples of the impact of the decision will be discussed to illustrate the effect of the decision.
