North Carolina Sea Grant is seeking applications for a climate resilience extension associate, a two-year, grant-funded position.
The extension associate will providing planning, implementation and evaluation of programs and technical assistance for coastal communities and resource managers addressing climate change. Project partners will include local, state, regional and federal agencies; researchers; and community and business organizations.
Duties will include but not be limited to facilitating extension programming developed through existing partnerships formed by the North Carolina Sentinel Site Cooperative, as well as assisting with a graduate student fellowship focused on coastal resilience.
The full-time position has a preference for applicants with a master’s degree in natural sciences; social science applied to natural resource management; coastal zone management; or a closely related field. Other preferences include two years of extension/outreach work with local communities, such as a position with a NOAA Sentinel Site Cooperative, Sea Grant program, state coastal management program, and/or a National Estuarine Research Reserve, and grant-writing experience.
