New NC Sea Grant Funding Opportunity

North Carolina Sea Grant has a new research funding opportunity to extend topics discussed at the program’s 2014 Research Symposium: Investments and Opportunities in April.

The symposium highlighted excellence across the program’s sponsored research and extension efforts. The event also facilitated stakeholder discussions to identify research, extension, applied science investment opportunities, and collaborative partnerships to effectively address North Carolina’s coastal needs now and into the future. The outcomes and lessons learned from the symposium are now available in a summary report.

To continue the momentum from this event, Sea Grant is offering competitive funding for research proposals focusing on four North Carolina topics:

• Infrastructure in the coastal zone
• Long-term datasets
• Tidal creek systems
• Research to inform restoration
