Seacoast Plants Author to Speak Aug. 23

Paul E. Hosier, author of Seacoast Plants of the Carolinas: A New Guide for Plant Identification and Use in the Coastal Landscape, will lead a discussion of his new book on Thursday, Aug. 23. The event will take place at Pomegranate Books in Wilmington at 7:00 p.m.

Hosier brings new perspectives, science and photographs to the topic. The book includes detailed profiles of more than 200 plants, and places an emphasis on the benefits of conserving and landscaping with native plants.

Seacoast Plants of the Carolinas: A New Guide for Plant Identification and Use in the Coastal Landscapes is a publication of the University of North Carolina Press and North Carolina Sea Grant. It is now available in bookstores, and online at uncpress.org.

The Summer 2018 issue of Coastwatch magazine offers excerpts, including sample plant IDs and an extensive Q&A with the author. The online edition can be found at nccoastwatch.org. More excerpts are available on the Coastwatch Currents blog, at ncseagrant.ncsu.edu/currents.
