Submit Presentation/Poster Proposals

Researchers and students, along with community, nonprofit and industry representatives, are encouraged to submit abstract proposals at the Coastal Conference. Topics can range from science or education to arts and humanities, and may incorporate research and outreach impacts.

Varied formats are available, such as a 15-minute talk with slides; a lightning talk of 5 to 7 minutes; or a poster. Alternate formats also will be considered.

“We anticipate receiving some creative proposals,” notes John Fear, North Carolina Sea Grant deputy director.

To submit proposals, visit go.ncsu.edu/ncesg. The deadline is 5 p.m. Friday, Aug. 16. The Coastal Conference planning committee will inform applicants in September if a submission has been accepted, and which format is requested to fit the conference agenda.

Enter Student Competition

University students from across North Carolina are especially encouraged to submit poster proposals through go.ncsu.edu/ncesg. Cash prizes will include $200 for first place.

At the event, students with posters will have several minutes to present their research to judges, and then respond to questions.

The deadline to submit poster proposals is 5 p.m. Friday, Aug. 16. Poster exhibit space is limited, so submit proposals early. For more information, contact John Fear, North Carolina Sea Grant deputy director, at jmfear@ncsu.edu.
