North Carolina Sea Grant supports research that encompasses a range of coastal issues. In the Spring 2014 issue of Coastwatch magazine, Katie Mosher gives an overview of Sea Grant’s 2014-2016 core funding cycle. In a related story, Mosher speaks about the program’s April 16 symposium that highlighted outcomes from core projects over the past 10 years.

A new report from Sea Grant and the N.C. Coastal Resources Law, Planning and Policy Center — Management Strategies for North Carolina’s Estuarine Shoreline — considers estuarine shoreline management strategies for the entire North Carolina coast. Mosher explains, along with a reprint of the executive summary.

From the great white to the sandbar shark, North Carolina’s estuaries and ocean waters provide a range of habitats for sharks. Chuck Bangley introduces some sharks that commonly are found in the state.
