The Albemarle-Pamlico National Estuary Partnership and North Carolina Sea Grant are accepting applications for the 2019 Graduate Fellowship in Estuarine Research.

The fellowship will fund a graduate student based in North Carolina to conduct applied research within the North Carolina portion of the APNEP management boundary.

“We are pleased to continue to offer this fellowship as an opportunity for graduate students to work on topics of importance to both programs,” notes John Fear, Sea Grant deputy director.

“The program not only provides specific research data and recommendations, but also draws attention to the watersheds shared by North Carolina and Virginia,” adds Dean Carpenter of APNEP.

Fellows must propose hypothesis-based research that addresses one or more of the following broad focus areas:

Proposed work should relate to the APNEP Comprehensive Conservation and Management Plan, as well as to North Carolina Sea Grant’s Strategic Plan.

The fellowship will be up to $10,000. Complete instructions are available online ncseagrant.ncsu.edu/Fellowships. All applications must be sent to debra_lynch@ncsu.edu.

The deadline is 4 p.m. on Monday, July 29, 2019.
